Medu wada



One of the favourite south indian tiffins, medu wada...simple and easy




Ingredients:
Urad Dal 2 cups
Salt to tasted
Jeera -1/2 spoon

Process:

Soak Urad dal in sufficient water for 3-4 hours

Grind to paste with little water

Now add sufficient salt and jeera

Mix well, make wada shape on plastic cover , I used milk packet cover

Now gently drop them into hot oil


Fry on medium flame 

Drain them once they sart turning golden brown
your Medu wada is ready to serve with chutneys and sambar



Medhu Wadas in appe / ponganalu pan

Medhu wadas needs so much oil to fry and that dish has been a part of our daily breakfast, lunch, dinner or special festive food. So, lets cook our very own wadas in the appe / ponganalu pan with so less oil.
They might look like ponganalu / appe but they have the very own wada taste. 


Ingredients :
— Soaked Urad dal - 2cups (soak for at least 4hrs)
— Chopped onions - 1cup
— Chopped green chillies - 4-5
— Grated carrot - 1/2 cup
— Curry leaves 
— Grated /chopped giner - 1 inch
— Salt 
— Soaked channa / moong dal - 1/2 cup (optional) 

Recipe :

1. Blend the soaked urad dal with less water. Batter should not be loose. 
2. Add chopped veggies and salt to this. 
3. Mix well, adjust the salt. 
4. Heat the ponganalu / appe pan and add little oil in each hole.
5. Now using a spoon fill the wada batter in the holes. 
6. Level the surface and fill the pan. 
7. Close with a lid and cook on medium flame for 5mins.
8. Now slowly flip the wadas. 
9. Let the other side cook for 5mins.

10. The wadas will be properly cooked and will be crunchy too. 

11. . Wadas are ready to be served. Serve with chutney or sambar.

Presenting a wonderful cake from the Dalgona family. This is a no Oven, no Butter and no Egg cake. Simple and easy to bake.
