Kurkuri Masale Bhindi ~ No Onion / Garlic

 


Okra or Bhindi or Bendakaya is well known as Ladies fingers. This vegetable is a good for diabetics and heart diseases. The famous quote that has been passed on generations which you always hear is -

"Eat Bhindi and that aids your memory power."



Ingredients

- Okra / Bhindi / Bendakaya 

- Salt - as required

- Turmeric - 1/2 tsp

- Chat Masala - 2 1/4 tsp

- Chilli Powder - 3 1/4 tsp

- Jeera Powder - 1 1/4 tsp

- Garam Masala - 2 1/4 tsp

- Besan - 8 tsps

- Oil - for shallow fry


Recipe :

1. Wash and clean dry bhindi. Make slits length wise.


2. In a bowl, add all the powders - salt, turmeric, chat masala, chilli powder, jeera powder and garam masala. Mix well.


3. Now take a mixing bowl and add the slit bhindi, half of above mixed masala powder and besan. Coat all the pieces well using hand. If required you can add little more besan. You will not need any water, the wetness in the bhindis should help.


4. You can either fry the bhindi along with all the spices or just fry bhindi mixed with besan and then add all the powders at the end. Adjust the salt accordingly in both cases.

5. Now shallow fry the bhindi in batches till they turn brown and crispy.


6. You can now add the left over masala mix and then mix well for nice flavor.

This is a can be eaten along with hot rice or as a side dish for sambar or dal.

Alu Baath

This is a simple flavor rice, with no onion , no garlic..
