Potato Brocoli Hash Browns



Make a lil twist to your usual breakfast 


Hash Browns - An American Breakfast Dish



Ingredients 


Preparation Time : 10 mins
Cooking Time : 20 mins
Baking Temperature : 180°C / 350 °F

Makes 20 servings


  • 4 Large potatoes
  • 1 cup of finely chopped broccoli 
  • 1 egg (Optional) 
  • 1 tbsp Pepper powder 
  • Salt 
  • 4 chopped garlic pods
  • 1 Spring onion
  • 1/4 cup grated cheese
  • 1/2 tsp Oregano
  • 1 finely chopped onion
  • 1 tsp cornflour 
  • 1 tsp Oil


Recipe 


Oven Method :


1. Take a bowl of cold water. Grate the potatoes and put it in the cold water.

2. Let it stay in cold water for 10mins.

3. After 10mins  squeeze all the water from the grated potatoes and transfer them to a bowl.

4. Add chopped broccoli, onions, garlic pods, spring onion. Also add salt, oregano, pepper powder, 1 egg and cheese to the mixture.

5. Mix this properly with cornflour and oil. 

6. Pre-heat the oven to 180°C / 350°F.

7. Apply little oil to your palms and make square shapes out of the mixture.

8. Arrange the square pieces on a baking tray and bake for 15mins in the pre-heated oven until the pieces turn brown. 

9. Serve hot with tomato ketchup. 


Stove Top Method :

1. All the steps remain to prepare the mixture remains the same.

2. Now in a pan heat oil for shallow fry.

3. Fry squares on both sides till they turn brown.

4. Serve hot with tomato ketchup.

     Tips


1. You can avoid egg and use boiled potatoes instead of the raw. 

2. To avoid messy baking tray you can put a parchment paper on the tray and then place all the potato squares. 

3. You can add different chopped vegetables like carrots, bell peppers, peas & cauliflower. 

4. If you want to avoid egg you can half boil the vegetables to reduce the cooking time.

Alu Baath

This is a simple flavor rice, with no onion , no garlic..
