A snack to accompany the aroma                   of coffee or that spicy masala tea.

 Ingredients

Preparation Time : 10 mins
Baking Time : 20 mins
Baking Temperature : 180°C / 350°F
Makes 20 serving

  • ½ cup coarsely powdered Almonds / Badam
  • ¼ cup finely chopped Almonds / Badam
  • 5 tbsp soft unsalted butter
  • 1 ½ cups of All purpose flour / Maida
  • ½ cup finely powdered sugar
  • ¼ tsp vanilla essence
  • ¼ cup boiled milk (room temperature)
  • Few drops of water

Recipe

1. In a bowl mix the flour, coarsely powdered almonds and the chopped almonds.

2. In another bowl whip the butter and sugar together. Make sure that the sugar mixes properly.

 3. Now add the flour mixture to the butter. Blend them properly.

4. Gradually add milk and little by little water to make it a soft dough.

5. Cover the dough and refrigerate this for 15mins for it to settle.

6. After 15mins, remove from the fridge and roll the dough into a rectangle shape. The dough should be rolled thick.

7. Cut the dough into equal squares. Try cutting them out to 20 pieces.
You can decorate with chopped almonds.

8. Arrange the pieces on a baking tray with enough space between them. Now bake these biscuits in a preheated oven at a temperature of 180°C / 350°F for about 20 mins.

9. After they are done remove from the oven and let them cool.

10. Store the crunchy biscuits in a tight sealed container to retain its freshness.

Tips

1. Make sure that the butter and milk are at the room temperature.

2. Don’t over mix the butter and sugar and do not leave this aside as the butter starts getting hard again.

3. Don’t transfer the biscuits if they are not completely cooled. This may lead to breakage.

4. You can save some chopped almonds and put them as topping before baking the pieces.

5.If your biscuits base turns to be black, you can simply grate the portion gently using a small holes vegetable grater.

6. To ensure you take the exact measurements, it is best to swipe your knife on the measuring cup.

Enjoy the almond biscuits.
